Masaryk University has 27 new associate professors

The appointment decrees were handed over to the new associate professors by MU Rector Martin Bareš.

Kristián Brat
Habilitated in the field of Internal Medicine. In his work he focuses mainly on pleural diseases, invasive methods in pneumology and pneumological intensive care.

Petr Jabandžiev
Habilitated in the field of Paediatrics. In his work, he specialises in paediatric gastroenterology and nutrition, especially inflammatory bowel diseases.

Andrej Klepanec
Habilitated in the field of Radiology. He focuses on vascular and non-vascular interventional radiology.

Radek Kroupa
Habilitated in the field of Internal Medicine. In his work, he specialises in oesophageal and gastric diseases.

Veronika Matušková
Habilitated in the field of Ophthalmology. In her work she focuses on vitreoretinal problems in ophthalmology and her habilitation thesis presents her achievements in therapy and prevention.

Martin Pail
Habilitated in the field of Neurology. His work has focused on the field of epileptology. In his habilitation thesis, he dealt with physiological and pathological high-frequency oscillations.

Zdeněk Stárek
Habilitated in the field of Internal Medicine. He pursues research in the field of interventional treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.

Habilitated in the fields of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Medicine and Algology. He focuses on clinical research in anaesthesia and intensive care.

Jiří Šána
Habilitated in the field of Oncology. His research focuses on the study of non-coding RNAs in brain tumour pathobiology, including the identification of novel molecular biomarkers and therapeutic targets.

Habilitated in the field of Radiology. Her research focuses on musculoskeletal diagnostics.

Milan Urík
Habilitated in the field of Otorhinolaryngology. He has a long-standing interest and specialisation in paediatric otorhinolaryngology.

Ondřej Volný
Habilitated in the field of Neurology. In his work he focuses on modern imaging methods of cerebral circulation, perfusion and the use of artificial intelligence in the analysis of computerised tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data of the brain.

Habilitated in the field of Physical Chemistry. He is interested in the development of new computational approaches and their application in the fields of medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry.

Habilitated in the field of Mathematics – Applied Mathematics. In his work, he has a long-standing interest in mathematical and medical statistics.

Zuzana Pátíková

Habilitated in the field of Mathematics – Mathematical Analysis. In her research, she focuses on the asymptotic and oscillatory theory of semi-linear differential equations.

Habilitated in the field of Mathematics – Mathematical Analysis. In his work, he specialises in the field of qualitative theory of differential equations.

Habilitated in the field of Civil Law. In his work, he specialises in the field of law of information technology and intellectual property law.

Habilitated in the field of Theory and History of Theatre, Film and Audio-Visual Culture Studies. In her research, she focuses on Czech opera production practice in the context of international production and theatre science.

Habilitated in the field of History – Czech History. He is a recognised expert in museum history appreciated by museologists and historians in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Habilitated in the field of Psychology. His research is concerned with item response theory and adaptive and computerised testing.

Habilitated in the field of Auxiliary Historical Sciences. His work focuses on Hussite sermons and other period literary works, as well as research on late mediaeval Latin and Czech literature.

Habilitated in the field of History of Art. In her work, she specialises in Baroque wall paintings, artistic patronage, profane iconography and the reception of ancient mythology.

Habilitated in the field of General and Diachronic Linguistics. His main research interests include Indo-European studies, Slavonic studies, Czech studies, general phonology and the history of linguistics.

Jan Sedmidubský
Habilitated in the field of Informatics. In his research, he focuses on similarity search in large-scale data collections, with a particular emphasis on the domain of spatio-temporal 3D human motion data.

Habilitated in the field of Sociology. He has long specialised in the politics of social transformation. His research focuses on the representation and engagement of corporate stakeholders in the social responsibility of production.

Monika Brusenbauch Meislová
Habilitated in the field of Political Science. She is one of the top Czech and European experts on EU politics, UK-EU relations and British politics concerning European integration.

Habilitated in the field of Political Science. His research interests include terrorism and revolutionary violence in global politics, ethnopolitical conflicts in the post-Soviet space, and global trends forecasting.

Habilitated in the field of Social Policy and Social Work. In his work, he is mainly interested in employment policy with a focus on specific groups of the unemployed, especially young people.
