“Masaryk University wants to speed up the process of increasing rates and thus strengthen the decreed, that is, mandated, wage component for all our employees. I’d like to thank the senate for carefully preparing this amendment, considering it, and approving it”, says Martin Bareš, rector of Masaryk University. The amended regulations, which will go into effect on 1 July 2025, include an increase in wage rates for academic and non-academic employees in 2026 and 2027. The amendment to the internal wage regulations will guarantee employees an increase in wage rates of at least 5 percent. For certain positions, higher increases can be expected, due to efforts to strengthen competitiveness, align with minimum wage increases, or reflect salary forecasts in regional education. The current total salary must be maintained. Thanks to higher wage rates, employees will receive from the university greater contributions for products associated with the social fund (pension insurance, long-term investment products, kindergarten tuition, etc.). The amendment to the regulation also serves as the foundation of the new collective agreement.
