When winter comes, invertebrates, namely insects and arachnids, lie down for their winter sleep. Therefore, once the temperature on the thermometer drops below zero, you would search for a buzzing in the meadows in vain. It comes as surprise gives that two species of spiders have learned to use this period in which their prey is in hibernation for hunting, freezing or not. This discovery was made by scientists from the Department of Botany and Zoology at Masaryk University´s Faculty of Science (http://www.muni.cz/people/56765).
