Masaryk University offers university sports grounds for rent. Even if people show interest, many students are not aware of this option. But thanks to a booking system, it is really easy.
The aim of the rentals is for the gyms and tennis courts to be utilized outside of teaching hours as well. The offer includes twelve Masaryk University sports grounds, for example gyms in Bohunice or in the city center. “The Vinařská gym is popular among students, since it is located at the premises of dormitories," says Vladimíra Kopuletá, the division head at the Technical and Operational Office of the Faculty of Sports Studies.
Rentals are not limited to students and employees of the Masaryk University only, but are intended for general public as well. You can make a long-term booking, but there is also an option for one-time events. “Some of our clients use the sports grounds for sport club trainings. Or for example the gyms are widely used during exam periods, sometimes also for single-event activities," adds Kopuletá.
The reservation system opens for public three weeks before the beginning of each semester. It is easy to use. After registering, you can select and book the sports ground you want to use. Receptionists of individual premises have access to the system and after they check that the place is properly booked, they let the sportsmen in. At the end of each month, you pay the number of hours you really used the premises.
Even if sports ground rentals are no news, many students have not known about this option. “I didn't know it is possible to rent sports grounds. If the prices are reasonable, I would definitely have used it. I also like the option of renting a fitness center and working out with a group of friends there," says David Zouhar, a student at the Faculty of Sports Studies.
