The European Research Council (ERC) announced the results of the prestigious 2022 ERC Starting Grants. Among the 3000+ applicants for the financial support by the leading European institutions for the funding of top research and development was a project submitted by Madalina Bianca Moraru from the Faculty of Law.

As part of the Czech Presidency of the EU Council, MU held an international scientific symposium addressing environmental and health crises. The conference was organized by Masaryk University.

One of the most important events of the Czech Presidency of the EU Council will take place in Brno this year, in large part thanks to Ondřej Hradil, the manager of research infrastructures at Masaryk University.

American musicologist Michael Beckerman and British transport economist Christopher Alfred Nash – two names who have joined the pantheon of holders of honorary doctorates awarded by Masaryk University.

The honorary title of doctor honoris causa of Masaryk University was awarded to respected musicologist Michael Beckerman who has devoted a significant part of his professional career to Czech music.

Professor Chris Nash who is an expert in the field of Transport Economics was yesterday awarded the honorary degree of Doctor Honoris Causa. He has collaborated with the Faculty of Economics and Administration since 2015. 

The Grant Agency of Masaryk University has opened another round of calls for the prestigious MASH and MASH Junior grants. Their aim is to attract successful scientists to Brno and offer them attractive conditions for the continuation of their long-term research at Masaryk University.

Czech Medical Association of J.E. Purkyně Awarded the best scientific publications published in 2021. The prize for the best original work was awarded to Šárka Pospíšilová, MU Vice-Rector for Research and Doctoral Studies.

Researcher Zuzana Hofmanová played a key role in solving the 1,400-year-old riddle of where the Avars came from. It took them only ten years to get from Mongolia to Central Europe.

Scientists from the MU Faculty of Pharmacy are collaborating on the development of a system enabling more accurate detection of chemical warfare agents. Research in this area is taking on an increasing urgency given the current geopolitical situation.  

Two years after becoming part of Masaryk University, the Faculty of Pharmacy succeeded in the prestigious ERA Chairs call. The financial resources will be used for a new scientific facility.
