Masaryk University had its most successful year in international university rankings measuring the quality of universities worldwide.

The tragic event of 21 December 2023, which took place at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, can lead to feelings of anxiety, despair and hopelessness. In this context, students and employees of Masaryk University can get professional psychological counselling.

In connection with yesterday’s tragedy, a commemorative event will be held today at 3 pm in front of the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University on Arne Nováka Street. The gathering is organised by the Students’ Chamber of the Academic Senate of Masaryk University.

In connection with the heinous attack that took place on the grounds of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague on Thursday, 21 December 2023, Masaryk University and the Bishopric of Brno have agreed to hold a Requiem Mass for the victims of this tragedy. The Requiem Mass will be held on Saturday, 23 December, at 3 p.m. in the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul in the centre of Brno.

In response to the tragedy at the Faculty of Arts in Prague, Masaryk University has announced a charitable collection. Financial contributions can be made in the form of a donation through the MU Shopping Centre.

Responding to the requests and wishes of its clients, Masaryk University’s Accommodation and Catering Services (SKM) has introduced in this spring semester a new offer of meals. The introduction of more affordable menus for students, priced at CZK 85, requires the streamlining of meals offered and the optimisation of the operation of canteens in general.

Civil law teacher María Esther Rovira Sueiro knew about Masaryk University because of its excellent reputation abroad, so she recommended it to her daughter as a great place for her Erasmus year.
