“My intention is to recognise lecturers who are systematically improving the quality of teaching at our University. The aim of the award is to support lecturers in their pedagogical development, to recognise their efforts to create a supportive and safe environment for students, and to encourage colleagues to promote best teaching practice at the University,” said Michal Bulant, Vice-Rector for Studies and Quality.
It is the teachers whose daily work helps students to succeed. They use teaching methods that create a supportive environment for learning and encourage students’ active involvement in the classroom. They can also improve their skills as educators through formal or informal training and participate in the dissemination of good pedagogical practice. There are many ways to promote teaching as an activity. The purpose of the new award is to recognise this and to support those teachers who, through their enthusiasm and commitment, improve the quality of teaching at Masaryk University on a daily basis.
