The MUNI HELPS Volunteer Centre is currently looking for more volunteers to travel to Jeseník and Česká Ves, which are dealing with the aftermath of devastating floods.

You can join in on transforming one night in the year into a one-of-a-kind celebration of research at our faculties and other university units during Researchers’ Night on Friday, 27 September, from 5:00 p.m. to midnight.

Nine secondary school students were awarded the Česká hlavička prize for the best scientific work. Two of the awards were sponsored by Masaryk University.

In the courtyard of the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University, a humanitarian collection to support flooded areas in the Jesenik region began today.

Because the risk of flooding in Brno is receding according to the authorities, the Masaryk University Security Emergency Board has recommended that students who were evacuated from their dormitories in Komárov as a precautionary measure can now return. As there is no longer an imminent danger, those who have not yet had the opportunity to move into their dormitories will be able to do so from 20 September.

The new academic year at Masaryk University will start one week later – students will have their first classes on Monday 23 September.
